I am a WA licensed clinical psychologist with 20+ years of experience offering counseling and psychotherapy. I work with individuals and couples who need help making changes, gaining new skills, finding solutions, or pursuing personal growth. I am skilled in treating a wide range of issues including anxiety and post traumatic stress, depression, relationship difficulties, coping with physical illnesses, and cultural adjustment.
As you are in the process of looking for a therapist, you may already be halfway through resolving your issues. Research shows that a client’s readiness and willingness to make changes is the strongest indicator of a successful therapy outcome. As a therapist, I will accompany you on the journey of ‘becoming’ who you really are by assisting you in developing internal and external resources such as the sense of freedom, ability to make choices, interpersonal skills, and strong support systems. Sometimes I may encourage you to tolerate the distress instead of hastily getting rid of it, since just like physical pain, emotional pain can be a warning sign to notify you that something needs attention. The time of despair could be a significant growing opportunity.

I apply a holistic view of health to my therapy work. A holistic approach acknowledges the deep connection between the mind, emotions, body and spirit. When one of these areas is out of balance, it can affect the health and harmony of our entire system. By examining these different aspects of ourselves we can regain balance in our life, allowing for more harmony, peace, and happiness. By applying the holistic approach, I encourage you to engage in self care and educate yourself about your own health. I urge you to be an active participant in your treatment and health care, rather than being a passive recipient of treatment given by others. Holistic healing is not intended to serve as a band-aid or a onetime fix. It is an ongoing journey of discovery in search of more answers about your life, which can ultimately lead to living better, being healthier, and wholeness.
